What information do i need to provide for an Award confirmation prior to 2006?

Student Requests.

If you would like an award verification letter, and you graduated before 2006 at one of the Universities predecessor institutions including the Luton College of Higher Education, Luton Technical College, or the University of Luton we may be able to help.

An award verification letter confirms a former student’s qualification and classification. Once we are able to retrieve documentary evidence from our archive records that confirms the course undertaken was completed and a qualification was awarded, will we be able to issue an award verification letter.

If you would like to request an award verification letter please respond by re-opening and updating this enquiry and sending us the following information:

• Your full name, date of birth, full address;

• The year you graduated;

• A photocopy of your ID e.g. your passport, driving licence or birth certificate.

Once we receive this information, you will be sent a link to the Universities online shop where you will be able to set up an account and place a purchase order for an award verification letter.

Please note that there will be a small charge for this service, which will be non-refundable irrespective of whether verification is successful. This is due to the historical nature of the records, as not all requests can be fulfilled due to locating physical or electronic documents. Requests can take approximately 21 days to fulfil.

Third party requests

If you would like to request an award verification letter on behalf of a student who studied at one of the Universities predecessor institutions including the Luton College of Higher Education, Luton Technical College, or the University of Luton prior to 2006 we may be able to help.

• Verify your establishment;

• State the year the former student graduated;

• Include the former students full name you would like us to verify along with their date of birth, full address, email address and a contact phone number;

• Include a photocopy of the student’s photo ID e.g. your passport, driving licence or birth certificate; and

• Be accompanied with a hand signature by the former students (we do not accept e-signatures or email giving consent).

Once we receive this information, you will be sent a link to the Universities online shop where you will be able to set up an account and place a purchase order for an award verification letter.
