What is a Discretionary Grant Application?

A Discretionary Grant Application is the process by which a student can apply for fees to be waived / paid by the University if he/she needs to retake units due to mitigating circumstances.  The University has limited funds set aside for this purpose as it is recognised that sometimes students need to retake for reasons beyond their control.  Students must be able to provide evidence of their mitigating circumstances in order for their Discretionary Grant Application (DGA) to be considered.    As the name suggests, the grant is discretionary and since funds are limited it is not guaranteed that all students applying will receive the grant.
