I want to interrupt my studies for a while, what should I do?

If you wish to interrupt your studies, have you considered the below?

Financial Implications:

Please discuss if there will be any financial impacts to you taking an interruption of studies and upon your return with the Student Finance Officer or Credit Services via telephone 01582 743993. Emails for each faculty can be found below:

Education and Sport (E&S): sfoE&S@beds.ac.uk

University of Bedfordshire Business School (UBBS): sfobusiness@beds.ac.uk

Creative Arts Technology and Science (CATS): sfocats@beds.ac.uk

Health and Social Sciences (HSS), including if you are a NHS funded student: sfohealth@beds.ac.uk

Other Important Teams to consider:

If you are living in Halls of Residence please contact your provider for advice.

If you are on an Apprenticeship please contact your Link Tutor for advice.

If you are studying at one of our partner colleges please seek advice from the college support services team.

If you are an International/Overseas student we cannot process your interruption request, please contact the International office for advice and support on: intstudent.experience@beds.ac.uk

You can also book an appointment with an engagement advisor to discuss this further. Email the team directly on: student.engagement@beds.ac.uk or contact SID to book an appointment.

If you wish to continue with your interruption, please find attached a copy of the form to this FAQ., 

Please complete and return the attached document to student.engagement@beds.ac.uk. Please note student engagement cannot open external attachments for security purposes, please ensure the completed document is sent from your student email account. If you are unable to access your university email account please contact SID who can assist you with this.

Please be advised that once your interruption has been processed you will no longer have access to your university of Bedfordshire accounts, please ensure you save documents or work you think you may require.

Returning to Studies:

Please contact your course administrator in regards to your return to studies date, you will then need to contact your finance officer with this information in regards to any financial implications.
