No. As the name suggests the Grant is discretionary. Students must apply for the Grant and supply evidence to support their application.

The funds available for these grants are limited and so Faculties must award on a discretionary basis. These grants are not a guaranteed right for students but they do offer the possibility of support for those that have encountered serious difficulty.
