What you need to do if you have to re-sit a unit or take a referral depends on how soon you can retake. Please come to see the Visa and Immigration Advisory Team in the International Office to be assessed in this regard. They will review your academic and visa situation and advise you concerning any immigration rules that may affect you. ;br If there will be a gap in your studies of more than 60 days of term time, you will need to leave the UK and return at a later date. We will be obliged to discontinue our sponsorship of you (in accord with Sponsor Guidance document). Therefore, you will need to obtain a new CAS from the University, and then you will need to apply for a new visa which will enable you to return at a later date.
The University will ask for proof that you have returned home in the form of a scanned copy of your entry stamp and boarding pass. UKVI will also be aware that you must return home and they will know if you have done so by checking your passport record. ;br gt;If there will not be a gap in your studies of 60 days of term time or more then you may be able to remain in the UK to apply for your new visa and complete your studies. If you require a visa extension, you will need to apply for the visa before your current visa expires, and the University will only continue to sponsor you if you are eligible for a CAS and we believe you can meet the demands of the course.
In certain cases, you may need to apply for a new visa overseas to return and complete your studies. The Visa and Immigration Advisory Team will be able to advise you regarding this matter.
