FAQ 663
What is UK Access Management Federation?

The UK Access Management Federation (also known as Shibboleth) is a login system that provides an alternative access route to resources we subscribe to. Some resources Dawsonera TRILT, ZETOC Alerts) can only be accessed using this system.

We provide two systems because some resources will only work with one, some with the other, it also helps us to offer alternative access routes in case of IT problems.

On the library catalogue record for the resource you want to use, eg SocINDEX, you will see a link Alternative access to SocINDEX with full text (via UK Access Management) when you click on this link you will be asked to enter your library username and password. You should then be taken straight to the resource. Sometimes when you login you may also have to select University of Bedfordshire from a list of universities.
